EA Is Shutting Down Online Services for This Forgotten PS5, PS4 <b>Racing</b> Game

GRID Legends, a solid racing game from Codemasters, will soon have its online services shut down. Released in 2022, EA has announced this sim-cade racer will lose its online features from 11th September, 2026. Here's what the publisher says about it on the game's PS Store page: "Beginning September 11, 2026, we have taken the decision to retire online services in GRID Legends for this platform. On this date, cross-platform play, online multiplayer modes, Quick Race, Dynamic Events, leaderboards, and other features that require an online connection will no longer be available to play in GRID Legends. Players can continue to enjoy the title's dramatic virtual production story and experience thrilling wheel-to-wheel motorsport and edge-of-your-seat action around the globe." So, all the online aspects will be closing down in about three months' time, but you'll still be able to enjoy the story and play the game offline. GRID Legends is unique in that it features a story with live-action cutscenes, combining that with the franchise's accessible handling and diverse range of vehicles. While it reviewed reasonably well, it never really took off, and from what I've been able to discern, it seems finding online races has been a struggle for a while anyway. The game was a PS Plus Essential game back in 2023, so if you're curious to try it now, hopefully you claimed it back then. Failing that, it's part of EA Play, and it frequently goes on sale with some pretty deep discounts. It's always a shame to see a game have its online side shut down, but presumably, the audience for GRID Legends has largely moved onto other racers at this point.

Thrustmaster's latest racing wheel is the closest any of us will ever get to driving a 24 Hours of Le Mans winning car It's expensive but exquisite, and if you've got the budget, you'll have to move fast to secure one with only 499 being made. I've seen a lot of pretty impressive racing wheels in recent weeks, but this latest reveal by Thrustmaster is definitely up there with the best. Announced at this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans race in France is this, the Ferrari 499P Centenary Winner Edition. It's very expensive at $851 / £751 but will also be one of the rarest wheels on the market, with just 499 of them being released. What makes it so special? This is a 1:1 scale wheel inspired by Ferrari's 2023 winning Prototype car, with a 4.3-inch display featuring the Ferrari 499P's dashboard that can display up to 140 parameters. As with the real thing, all the relevant race data you need at any given time can be accessed through the wheel's display, leaving you free to focus on the racing at hand. Besides the design, for your money you're getting a molded carbon back cover, six adjustable paddles, which includes a pair made out of carbon fiber, buttons, dials, and even a 'subtle' D-pad because, of course, this is for gaming. Each of the 499 units produced comes with a numbered plaque and a display stand, because when you're not using it to race, it can sit pride of place in your collection. New Moza Modular Cockpit Hardware The MA3F Electronic Flight Control Module (EFCM) brings advanced autopilot control to the modern modular flight simulator cockpit in the style of an Airbus Autopilot Unit. Alongside the EFCM, the MA3F Flight Computer Display (FCD) is essentially an Airbus-style FMS designed to provide pilots with a dedicated hardware interface for flight management and navigation input. The device features a high-resolution display, illuminated keypad, and durable metal front panel designed to replicate the tactile experience of operating real cockpit avionics. Moza’s MGX1000 Instrument Panel is a G1000 style modular panel including a display screen alongside a host of buttons and knobs. Finally, Moza showcase the FMP-18 modular fighter panel system. The FMP-18 combines multi-function display frames, central control panels, and illuminated switches into a configurable cockpit interface designed for high-intensity simulation environments. Backlit buttons, rotary encoders, and toggle switches provide clear tactile cues, allowing pilots to operate complex aircraft systems quickly and confidently in demanding combat scenarios. With adjustable mounting options and modular panel layouts, the FMP18 allows users to build highly-immersive fighter-style simulator cockpits at home. All of Moza’s display-equipped products do not require additional graphics or HDMI outputs. Instead, they’re designed to interface with the Moza Cockpit software via a simple USB connection. Gran Turismo 7 Online Time Trial: Le Mans of the Hour

With the real-world 24 Hours of Le Mans running this very weekend, Gran Turismo 7 sends you out onto the full 24 Heures du Mans Racing Circuit in Gr.1 hypercars on Racing Soft tires. Of course, four of the eligible cars just arrived to the game today. Update 1.70 brought four new LMH and LMDh prototypes into the game: the Porsche 963 ’24, Ferrari 499P ’23, BMW M Hybrid V8 ’25 and Peugeot 9X8 ’25. They join the Toyota GR010 HYBRID ’21, and all five are eligible here. Le Mans is everywhere this week, with the circuit also taking center stage in the Weekly Challenges, so there’s a heavy focus on La Sarthe across the board. These cars were built to race here, which makes the pairing about as natural as GT7 combos get. As for which one to run, everyone will have a favorite. But an early look at the leaderboard suggests the Porsche 963 is the car to beat. One Week Left at Deep Forest There’s also still a week to go on last week’s event, which puts the Toyota 86 GRMN ’16 around Deep Forest Raceway Reverse on Comfort Medium tires. I was racing across an alien world, just a few seconds away from crossing the finish line, when I lost traction and hit a large hill at a strange angle. No worries, though; I could just use my thrusters to reorient my intergalactic dune buggy to save me from a nasty crash. It was at that moment that I realized I had used up the last bit of my thruster fuel. I smashed hard into the ground and had to restart. Next time, I’ll be a bit more careful. And there will be a next time because I really enjoy Exo Rally Championship, a tough but exciting rally sim that ditches the forests of Europe and the dunes of California for faraway locations on distant moons and planets. Released earlier this week on Steam, Exo Rally Championship is from the creator behind Exo One. But where that game was a somewhat relaxing intergalactic flight through alien worlds, XRC is a white-knuckle racing game all about reaching the finish line as fast as possible while avoiding crashing meteors, massive cliffs, and hostile terrain. As the kids might say, the vibes are different. But I’ve been having a blast racing through the game’s various intergalactic tracks while customizing (and repairing) my space buggy and slowly getting better at not landing upside down. And make no mistake about it: You will crash a lot in Exo Rally Championship. While the game looks very sci-fi, the inner workings of it are a tough-as-nails and highly accurate rally simulator. You have to manage fuel weight, tire quality, repairs, your vehicle’s ride height, and many other settings. This weekend, Aston Martin rolls a pair of Valkyrie hypercars onto the grid at the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the brand’s second crack at endurance racing’s biggest prize. Those two cars are spoken for, obviously. But if you’ve got the means and a serious sim racing habit, Aston and Curv Racing Simulators just announced the next best thing: the AMR-C01-R Hypercar Edition, a limited-run rig dressed up exactly like the race cars themselves. The Wheel Is the Whole Point Curv has been building ultra-premium simulators with Aston Martin since 2020, so the carbon fiber cockpit formula isn’t new. What is new, and what makes this edition genuinely special, is the bespoke Aston Martin Valkyrie steering wheel bolted to the front of it. Modeled after the actual race car component, the aluminum and carbon fiber wheel packs nine rotary dials, 12 push buttons, a five-inch color display, and magnetic paddle shifters with dual-clutch paddles and an adjustable bite point. Every wheel is built to order, with customizable side and rotary color configurations. It’s about as close to real Hypercar-class hardware as a civilian is ever going to get. Shaped by a Guy Who’d Know The whole rig is hand-built in the UK around a carbon fiber monocoque, with a seating position that mirrors the Valkyrie’s actual driving geometry. That part was overseen by Curv founder Darren Turner, who happens to be an Aston Martin test driver and a three-time Le Mans class winner. So, the credentials are verified.
