Another video game is falling victim to sneaky subscription practices, though the method is quite unusual; rather than implementing a regular "pay to win" feature, sim-racing game Le Mans Ultimate promises a "pay not to lose" advantage to players with a monthly subscription. Did you take last place? Did another driver wreck your car? Or were you the one to hit another driver? Pay the fee, and all shall be forgotten. As a competitive online racing game, Le Mans Ultimate players have a "driver rank" and a "safety rank" that represent their driver skills and punish reckless moves, respectively. So, if you're an amazingly skilled driver but tend to cause a lot of crashes, your driver rank may be high, but your safety rank will be low. These rankings will affect matchmaking when a player joins a race. Naturally, they also serve as a badge of honor. Of course, accidents happen; drivers can lose rank due to crashes, a failing internet connection, or a mischievous cat, which is why Studio 397, the developer of Le Mans Ultimate, announced their plan to implement an "Event Joker" system in their next update, which will release on July 28. Every 10 races, the player earns a Joker (up to a maximum stack of three), which they can use to nullify one race result. The race result will still count if it was part of a championship, but the result won't damage the player's driver and safety rank. While this sounds reasonable enough, Le Mans Ultimate's Joker system has its player base up in arms as Reddit gets flooded with posts like "The new 'Race Joker' is the worst idea ever" and "New joker system is P2W." For at least the next few days, Mike Christopher Jr. will be the living embodiment of the phrase, ‘I’ll sleep when I’m dead.’ The 27-year-old Christopher, who races the No. 31 Elite Racing entry on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, will drive the No. 62 Toyota for Halmar Friesen Racing at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park Friday evening (8 p.m. ET on FS1). Once his responsibilities in Indiana are complete, he’ll get whatever rest he can before jumping on a plane at 6 a.m. Saturday morning to fly to New Hampshire to compete in the Duel at the Dog 200 at Monadnock Speedway (8:30 p.m. ET on FloRacing). Christopher’s busy stretch really started last weekend with the Thunder in the Mountains 200 at White Mountain Motorsports Park. Once that was complete, he had a full day of work ahead of him Monday before he caught a flight to North Carolina that evening to turn some laps in the simulator and visit with the Halmar Friesen Racing team. It was a full day of work Monday,” Christopher said. “I had a flight that was scheduled to leave Hartford [Connecticut] at 7 p.m., but it took off closer to 10:30 p.m. I landed in Greensboro just before 12:30 a.m. and I drove to Mooresville to stay over. I got there at like 2:15 a.m. “I was up early and I got to the HFR shop at about 8:30 a.m. I did the sim from 12 to 2 p.m. and I’m scheduled to fly out [to go home] at about 8 p.m.” His flight home on Tuesday didn’t exactly go according to plan. His plane left North Carolina more than two hours late

The European SimRacing Expo is back for 2026, and bigger than ever, moving to the Messe Frankfurt between 16th and 18th October. Inside Hall 12 of the exhibition venue, the west-central Hesse city will host over 16,000 square feet of the latest and best sim racing equipment and games. Here’s how to get there and make the most of the event. SimRacing Expo Frankfurt location and address The SimRacing Expo Frankfurt 2026 is being held within Hall 12 of the Messe Frankfurt exhibition space: - Ludwig-Erhard-Anlage 1 - 60327 Frankfurt am Main-Innenstadt II - Germany Car parking The Messe has its own car parking on site, so simply drive to the address above and follow signs for parking, nearest Hall 12. It’s likely that ‘SimRacing Expo’ signs will be visible to follow during the event. However, in the event of the car parking being filled, a Rebstock multi-storey car park will be used with a shuttle bus to the event. Limited spaces with Type 2 connectors to charge electric vehicles are available by emailing [email protected] ahead of travel. Train Handily, the Messe Frankfurt venue is close to the main central Frankfurt train station (Frankfurt Main Hauptbahnhof). In fact, it’s around a 10-13 minute walk from the station. Alternatively, you can grab a U-Bahn train (underground metro-style service), which is one stop and under one minute, from within the Frankfurt train station, line U4. Plane Frankfurt Airport is situated close to the centre of the city with regular flights from around the world. Once you’ve landed at the airport, there is a train, S8 (S-Bahn), that runs to the main Frankfurt train station (Frankfurt Main Hauptbahnhof). From there, it’s a 10-13 minute walk to the Messe Frankfurt for the SimRacing Expo, or a one-minute underground U-Bahn U4 train from the

NASCAR 26 has a definitive 18th September release date Gold Edition releases on 15th AI DNFs, evolving track surface and revised road course track limits We’ve known that NASCAR 26 will launch in September with Kyle Larson on the cover, but now we know more specifically it will be on 18th September 2026. A Gold Edition, with exact details to follow, will include three days of early access from 15th September, for a higher price (which is also to be confirmed). A developer diary video with iRacing’s Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Kevin Bobbitt, Senior Producer Matt Lewis and Creative Director Mike DeVault recently showcased further images of the Naval Base Coronado venue, which will be a new addition to this season’s official NASCAR game. They also discussed, and showed still images of, a new track evolution system, where different lines should rubber-in across a race weekend. Other features confirmed include the ability for AI-controlled rivals to now retire, or DNF, from races and a recreation of the new-for-2026 (or a return, depending on your viewpoint) season-ending 10-round Chase format. This is touted as being able to play as a separate mode, too. The punitive road course track cut penalties from last year’s game are said to have been “loosened”, according to Lewis. The Gold Edition contents will be unveiled alongside gameplay footage and pre-orders next week, on 29th July 2026. Post-race celebratory burnouts and cross-platform multiplayer have already been confirmed for the PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S game. The SimRacing Expo returns to Germany at Messe Frankfurt (Hall 12) on 16th – 18th October.
Visitors at the Expo will be able to test the latest equipment (some even before they go on sale) on the latest sim racing platforms, watch live stage interviews and meet members of the sim racing community.
Here is a list of all exhibitors expected at SimRacing Expo Frankfurt. This list is a work-in-progress and will be updated as more exhibitors are announced over the coming weeks.
Among the highlights announced so far include renowned manufacturers such as Fanatec, Novus Racing Simulators and Trak Racer, with many more expected to be announced ahead of the event in October.

When it comes to passion and brand love, there are very few people like Mazda fans. Having attended an actual Mazda Fan Festa in Japan has given me a huge insight into just how this event is driven purely by the community. It surprised me how Fan Festa transcends the stereotypes; in Japan, the event attracts fans of all genders and age groups to give credence to Mazda’s Celebrate Driving philosophy. Mazda Philippines has always tried to bring the very same passion and atmosphere to the local Fan Festa edition. What started out from truly humble beginnings has blossomed into a full-bore local motorsports gathering filled not just with activities but also oozing camaraderie and mutual love for all things Mazda. 2026 brings in a new era for the Mazda Fan Festa Philippines series. Leg 1 saw Mazda pivot from track racing to sim racing, hosting it at the Mazda Center of Excellence. All racers were invited to prove themselves in the virtual world, and it added a new dimension to an already successful event, bringing motorsports not just to the racers themselves, but opening it up to more people. Leg 2 at the Clark International Speedway (CIS) saw the Fan Festa finally go racing; while the actual racers were out on track, the e-sim spirit lived on through the media challenge. Media representatives (like myself) signed up to partake in a time trial competition. We were set to do our fastest possible laps around a faithful render of the Batangas Racing Circuit in MSCC Miata Spec Series cars. While the actual racers sped past the pit straight of CIS, the media were locked into an intense battle of their own. Despite the virtual nature of the competition, our competitive tendencies took over, with each representative trying their very best
